Fictional Vientiane

The air in Vientiane at sunset is wine you breathe instead of sip ... hints of distant wood fires, backpacker patchouli, steamed rice and a lingering thread of the acrid taint of an open sewer.

Mystery wafts on the gentle breezes that encircle the purple-black stupa in the center of the city. It is a sight you must see.

If you want to prepare for a visit or beam yourself into this wonderful place, I recommend you step out and read the first of Colin Cotterill's four novel mystery series The Coroner's Lunch. You won't miss the following three books once you are hooked. The series is available on Amazon.com or at any really good bookstore.

Enjoy!
